Terms of Service

The rules for using ReelTalk, including community conduct, subscriptions, AI recommendations, moderation, and user content.
Effective August 8, 2026
Applies to the app and website

The agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the ReelTalk mobile apps, reeltalk.site, and related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, accepting these Terms in the app, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use ReelTalk.
These Terms are between you and the team that operates ReelTalk (“ReelTalk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). App stores and the third-party services described below are not parties to this agreement.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old. If the law where you live requires a higher age to consent to an online service, you must meet that age or have valid permission from a parent or legal guardian.
Provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and promptly tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.
You are responsible for activity through your account unless it occurred after you gave us notice of compromise and was outside your reasonable control.
One person may not create accounts to evade a suspension, manipulate community activity, impersonate others, or abuse free or paid limits.

What ReelTalk provides

ReelTalk helps people discover movies; create reviews, diaries, watchlists, lists, and rankings; follow and interact with other users; find showtimes; use Movie Match; receive notifications; and obtain automated recommendations. Features may differ by device, location, account status, or subscription tier.
We may improve, add, limit, or discontinue features. If a change materially reduces a paid feature during a prepaid period, any remedy required by applicable law or the relevant storefront’s rules remains available.

Community Guidelines

Be honest about your movie opinions and respectful of the people sharing theirs. You may disagree strongly; you may not use ReelTalk to harm, deceive, or exploit others. Do not post, link to, encourage, or coordinate:
Threats, targeted harassment, bullying, stalking, hateful conduct, or attacks based on a protected characteristic.
Sexual exploitation, content involving the abuse or sexualization of minors, non-consensual intimate material, or attempts to solicit it.
Instructions or credible encouragement for violence, self-harm, illegal activity, or dangerous wrongdoing.
Another person’s private or identifying information without permission, including credentials, financial details, precise live location, or private communications.
Impersonation, fraud, scams, deceptive links, spam, malware, automated scraping, or coordinated manipulation of likes, follows, reviews, rankings, reports, or recommendations.
Content you do not have the right to share, including copyright or trademark infringement, or content that violates another person’s privacy or publicity rights.
Graphic sexual content, pornography, or content whose primary purpose is shock, humiliation, or abuse rather than good-faith discussion of a movie.
Attempts to bypass moderation, access controls, rate limits, subscription controls, or technical safeguards.

Reviews, spoilers, and authentic activity

Use spoiler controls when a review or comment reveals a material plot point. Ratings and reviews must reflect a genuine opinion or experience. Do not exchange compensation for undisclosed promotion, copy someone else’s review, or artificially inflate or suppress engagement. ReelTalk may label, limit, or remove activity that appears manipulated or misleading.

Your content and permission to operate the Service

You keep ownership of content you create. You give ReelTalk a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, distribute, and make that content available only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the Service. For example, this lets us display a public review in a feed or render a share card you request.
This license ends when your content is deleted, except where a copy must remain temporarily in backups, is retained for legitimate safety or legal reasons, was shared by someone else outside ReelTalk, or remains as an anonymous contribution after account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit your content and grant this license.

Moderation and enforcement

ReelTalk uses automated filters and human review. We may reject profile photos or posts; reduce visibility; remove content; preserve evidence; warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts; or report a matter to appropriate authorities when we reasonably believe these Terms, law, or safety require it. Automated systems and reviewers can make mistakes.
You can report content or users with the in-app reporting tools. You may appeal an enforcement decision by emailing support@reeltalk.site with your username, the decision, and why you believe it should be reconsidered. We prioritize credible threats, child-safety matters, and other urgent risks.

ReelTalk Pro and purchases

The price, billing period, included features, trial terms, and renewal terms shown at purchase are part of these Terms. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled through the purchasing storefront before renewal.
Apple, Google, or Stripe handles billing, cancellation, and eligible refunds under its terms and applicable law. Manage or cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription in that storefront account, or a web subscription through the customer portal linked from Settings. Deleting ReelTalk or your ReelTalk account does not itself cancel a storefront subscription.
RevenueCat helps ReelTalk verify entitlements, and Superwall may present purchase offers. Use Restore Purchases in Settings if access does not appear after a valid purchase.
We may change future prices or plan features with the notice and consent required by the storefront or applicable law. We do not promise that every feature will always be paid or free.

AI recommendations

Recommendations are automatically generated from your prompt and related context using third-party AI. They may be inaccurate, unavailable in your region, inconsistent with your request, or unsuitable for a particular viewer. Verify ratings, content warnings, availability, and other important details independently. Do not rely on ReelTalk AI for legal, medical, financial, safety-critical, or other professional advice.
You may not use the AI feature to generate prohibited content, probe for confidential system information, disrupt the Service, or evade usage limits. Free and Pro usage limits may apply.

Movie data, showtimes, and third-party services

Movie metadata, artwork, trailers, streaming availability, music information, content advisories, theater information, ticket links, and showtimes come from third parties or public sources, including TMDB and services linked or identified in the app. ReelTalk is not a movie rating authority, theater, ticket seller, streaming provider, or representative of those services unless explicitly stated.
Availability, prices, ratings, warnings, and showtimes change and may be incomplete or wrong. Confirm important information with the theater, storefront, rights holder, or official source. Opening a third-party link makes that provider’s terms and privacy policy apply.

Our software and brand

ReelTalk and its licensors own the Service’s software, design, logos, and other materials we provide, excluding your content and third-party materials. We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer where prohibited, interfere with, or create a competing dataset from the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it.

Copyright and rights complaints

If you believe content on ReelTalk infringes your copyright or other rights, email support@reeltalk.site with the content location, the right you own or represent, your contact information, a good-faith explanation, and any statement or signature required by applicable law. Knowingly false notices may create liability. We may remove disputed material and notify the person who posted it.

Suspension, termination, and deletion

You may stop using ReelTalk at any time and can delete your account in Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for material or repeated violations, safety or security risk, legal requirements, prolonged service discontinuation, or nonpayment of a paid entitlement. Where reasonable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to appeal.
Account deletion is permanent. The Privacy Policy explains what is deleted, what may remain anonymous, and what limited records may be retained. Sections that by their nature should survive—such as ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability, and responsibility for past conduct—continue after termination.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free data, specific movie results, continued availability of a title or feature, or that all harmful content will be detected before you see it. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Limits of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ReelTalk is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from the Service. ReelTalk’s total liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid ReelTalk for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or US $100.
These limits do not apply where prohibited, including liability that cannot be limited for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death, personal injury, or mandatory consumer rights. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Your responsibility for misuse

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for reasonable losses and third-party claims caused by your unlawful content, your knowing or reckless violation of these Terms, or your misuse of the Service. You are not responsible for losses caused by ReelTalk’s conduct or events outside your reasonable control.

Disputes and governing rules

Before filing a claim, contact support@reeltalk.site and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve it informally. These Terms are governed by the laws that apply where ReelTalk’s operator is established, without overriding mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Claims may be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction. We do not require private arbitration or waive your right to participate in a class action under these Terms.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect product, safety, legal, or operational changes. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice and may require you to accept the updated Terms before continuing to use account features. Changes apply prospectively from their effective date unless law requires otherwise.

General terms

If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only as much as necessary and the rest will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer this agreement without our consent; we may transfer it as part of a business reorganization or sale. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about your use of the Service, except for purchase terms shown by the applicable storefront.
